Me gustaría tener un tema homogéneo de qué hablar, pero no es posible. Este blog es sobre todo y nada a la vez. Dedicado a aquellos que se sienten ni de aquí ni de allá, a los que no pueden viajar por el mundo, a los que aman la exploracion del espacio, pero no pueden trabajar en este sector por cuestiones de la vida y a los "wanabees" como yo, que somos aficionados a la cocina y le andamos haciendo al chef, pero se nos quema todo.  

Algunos se preguntarán: ¿Por qué Rocket Science A la Mexicana?  Es buena pregunta, la verdad es algo que se me ocurrió, porque soy de descendencia mexicana y porque nos llaman rocket scientists a los que trabajamos en NASA.  Sin embargo, en inglés hay una frase muy popular que se utiliza para indicar que algunas cosas no son complicadas y las hacemos mas complicadas de lo que son, la frase es:  “It is not rocket science” literalmente, “No es ciencia de cohetes”.  En español, la frase es mejor conocida como “no tiene ciencia”.   Así que este blog combina temas que en ocasiones son complicados, otros que en ocasiones no tienen ciencia, otros sobre  mi herencia mexicana, otros de cocina, otros de viaje y otros que si hablan de mis experiencias en la NASA.  ¿Ya se confundieron más?  ¡Vamos, esto no es ciencia de cohetes!

En realidad, este blog tal vez se trata de la búsqueda de identidad y el sentimiento de pertenencia de dos culturas que se fusionan, el sentimiento de no ser ni de aquí ni de allá. Posiblemente este blog es sobre la auto-preservación cultural y la búsqueda de aceptación a través de la adaptación humana mientras se abraza la nueva cultura. Sin embargo, tal vez, es acerca de las experiencias maravillosas que se viven en el planeta Tierra con una misión y un propósito , en busca de un sentido de pertenencia a algo más grande que la imaginación humana ; tal vez se trate de la exploración del espacio y más allá, intentando encontrar el origen de mi existencia desde mi punto de vista imperfecto  humano, espiritual y cultural.

I would like to have a homogeneous topic to talk about, but it is not possible. This blog is about everything and nothing at the same time. Dedicated to those who feel neither from here nor there, to those who cannot travel the world, to those who love space exploration, but cannot work in this sector due to life issues, to those who are a fusion of different cultures,  and to the "wannabes" like me, who are fond of cooking like the big chefs, but everything comes out burned.

Some may wonder: Why Rocket Science A la Mexicana? It's a good question, I came up with this because I am of Mexican descent and because if one works at NASA, you get called names like “rocket scientists”. You know how we have this popular phrase to indicate some things are not as complicated as we make them? "It is not rocket science", well, this is what this blog is about maybe? This blog combines topics that are sometimes complicated, others that are not: my Mexican heritage, cooking, travel, spirituality, and others about my experiences at NASA. Are you confused now? Come on, this is not rocket science!

The reality is, this blog may be about the search for identity and the feeling of belonging to two cultures that merge, and the conundrum of feeling of like you are neither from here nor from there. Possibly this blog is about cultural self-preservation and seeking acceptance through human adaptation while embracing new cultures. However, perhaps, it is about the wonderful experiences that are lived on planet Earth with a mission and a purpose, in search of a sense of belonging to something greater than human imagination; perhaps it is about the exploration of space and beyond, trying to find the origin of my existence from my very imperfect human, spiritual, and cultural point of views.
